09012009 - Proton Malaysian Open 2009 Quarter Finals

Thanks to Badminton Association of Malaysia, who started the quarter final matches at 6pm, we had the chance to withness the quarter final matches LIVE after class. haha.
The first time we went to Bukit Jalil by LRT, didn't know which to direction to head to Putra Stadium after reaching Bukit Jalil LRT station. Due to time constrain, we asked a Rapid KL girl at the counter. She said its over there with her finger pointing towards the National Hockey Stadium. Well, after we've reach the hockey stadium, we saw no sight of Putra Stadium, well, there wasn't any banners of Malaysian Open also.
Thanks to a friendly aunty security guard in her middle age, we reached Putra Stadium around 6. As usual, queued to buy tickets, and after we went into the arena, mixed double players were already in action. We saw Koo Kien Keat-Ng Hui Lin playing against the Danes in the second court, and Lee Yong Dae-Lee Hyo Jung playing against Hoon Thien How and Chin Eei Hui on court 4.

After Nova Widianto and Liliyana Natsir wrapped off their Taiwanese opponents in court 1, Malaysian women singles no2 -- Julia Wong appeared on the court to play against veteran Zhou Mi, while our nation no3, Lydia Cheah appeared in 3rd court to play another oldies, Wang Chen. haha. Both of the Malaysian lost their matches obviously. LOL

It's men singles after women singles. No doubt, our nation Jaguh Kampung was one of the players to beat in Malaysian Open. He played against Simon Santoso, the Indonesia upcoming rising star. Suprisingly, Simon seems taller in person. hahahah. LCW had a difficult time to beat this dude. My salute to Simon, he was able to handle this pressure very well and to be steady during the match. He was not disturbed by the Malaysian spectators at all. Hence, LCW was dragged by this dude to rubber game, but Simon ended up losing to LCW.

Advices and instructions from Teh Seu Bok

Lee Chong Wei and Simon Santoso

and.. and.. and.. my beloved PETER HOEG CHRISTENSEN was playing in the 3rd court!! hahaha. Nation upraising star cum back up player Liew Daren was Gade's victim -- settled him off in less than 40 min. I have to admit that Gade's jumping smash was damn powerful, and his straight line and cross court smashes were superb as well. Too bad, his speed is not that fast as Lin Dan =.=. Anyhow, his jumping smash is still the best among the "Heavenly 4 of badminton"

Peter Gade during interval

Piece of advice from Morten Frost

Bye Gade, and Congrats. =)

Lining up was women doubles, and we could see nation top women pair in action. They were playing against Zhang JieWen and Yang Wei of China. Pei Tty and Eei Hui were hard to beat, but the Chinese pair won at last. Should Choong Tan Fook be happy? hahaha. Women doubles matches were the dummiest matches of the day. as like.. hmm.. Korean vs Korean, Indonesian vs Indonesian. LOL. Dozzed off nearly. haha.

But, there was an 'entertainment show' by the M'sian and Indonesian supporters. haha. As the whole stadium was busy supporting and cheering for Pei Tty-Eei Hui, the Olympic men doubles champion -- Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan was playing at the court beside. So kesian., spectators paid less attention for them. Hence, the Ina fella was trying to 'snatch' some spectators to cheer for them. haha. funny part comes. The blood of the M'sian fatso's was boiling! Stupiest thingy he did -- issued a red card to the Ina supporter. hahaha. Anyhow, kudos to JieWen, Yang Wei, Pei Tty, Eei Hui, Rexy and Pang Cheh Chang, they were able to pay 100% of concentration on the court, instead of being distracted by these 2 idiots. They were indeed professionals. haha

The Ina fella. LOL

The fatso. haha

Well people, here comes the peak of the day. LOL. Yes. It's men doubles. haha. We went all the way to Bukit Jalil just for this event. haha. Unbelievable, we saw the Olympic champion, Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan in action! hahaha. Its kinda waste that I didn't pay much attention to the match, as it was the Indonesian affairs's match. No doubt, the Olympic champion won. haha. Its nice to watch the plump plump and short short Kido doing his jumping smash. haha. He's damn cute. LOL.

Hendra Setiawan and Markis Kido

After Pei Tty and Eei Hui was wrapped up by Yang Wei and Zhang JieWen, appearing on the court was Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong and Jung Jae Sung-Lee Yong Dae!!! hahahaha. The match that we've been waiting for. The whole stadium was screaming and cheering and shouting like monkeys for triple K and Tan Boon Heong, and I was like a noob sitting at the upper tier. Both of these pairs are my favourite pairs whey!! So, I've decided to be a numb. haha. Anyhow, I found that I was happier when the Korean clinched every single of the points. hahaha.
Rexy wasn't there for the match, left Pang Cheh Chang alone. hahaha. Was this the main cause for the M'sian pair to loose? haha. NO la. The reason was : Jung Jae Sung and Lee Yong Dae were just simply TOO strong. hahaha. Anyhow, this match was damn exciting as Korean lost their 2nd match to the Malaysian. lol. Wat the hell. I couldn't stood the atmosphere and I started to shouted for the Koreans. Anyway, Jung and Lee bucked up in the third match, and they won!
Phew~ really clinced my fists whey. haha.
Triple K doing his jumping smash

Yes. We've won. =)

Well, after the Korean won the match, we could hear boo-ings around. LOL. This is what the Malaysians did all the time. LOL. Ying Jie and I searched for an enterance into the arena in order to take picture with LYD. After we've found the way to enter the arena, damn it, the gate was locked! I should listen to her to jump over the mini gate, instead of go out from the hall and go through the underground floor. Sigh. damn stupid. LYD wasn't there already as we reached the arena. But we met REXY MAINAKY!! he was on the phone. Dare not to kacau him. lol. After all, we explored the underground floor of the stadium, and tried to find out all the enterances so that we are able to catch them up for the next day. LOL

We left the stadium around 2230, walked freaking fast to catch LRT. Reached Bank Negara at 2300++, waited for an hour but there were still no sight of the train. Damn it. Waiting no more. took cab back. The driver was nice luckily =)
