Thomas Cup Finals 2010 - Day 1.

Event : Proton BWF Thomas / Uber Cup Finals 2010
Venue : Putra Stadium Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur
Date : 9th May 2010 - 16th May 2010.

Yes. I am suppose to glue my ass on the chair and stick my face to the book in this freaking study week but, Thomas / Uber Cup which is held ONCE in two years is just bloody irresistible. How frequent can you witness Thomas / Uber Cup Finals in your life? For your info, it was year 2000 when Thomas Cup was LAST HELD in Malaysia. Yes. BIG TEN YEARS AGO. It can be held all over the world, unlike the Malaysia Open which held annually inside Malaysia itself.

So, kicked Business Law aside, off to Bkt Jalil this noon with Ng Ying Jie. When she gave me a message saying she could make it today, I tell you I was smiling like a happy girl last night. I was too dead boring facing the academic stuffs at home for like dayS, perhaps that explains why I could smile like ^__________________^

I wanted to hunt for jerseys, jackets, and most importantly, A PAIR OF BADMINTON SHOES. Japan brand Yonex, sponsorship brand for Korean Team Victor, China brand Li Ning to choose from. High quality Yonex shoes were out of budget. Fuck that Thomas Cup Limited Edition pair, RM400! Luckily I wasn't really into that fucking pair of shoes, if not I don't know where to go and fork out RM400 just for a pair of badminton court shoes! Newly designed jerseys haven't arrive yet. Got to wait until tomorrow. Wthh. I will only be going again on Friday! I am worrying of those jerseys will be out of stock and no more sizes left. Tomorrow will definitely be crowded because the public-recognized SUPER DAN aka LIN DAN will be playing! Everybody just want to watch LIN DAN. Yes yes yes. Go and watch LIN DAN. Don't go and see jerseys ok!

I got to know ACCIDENTALLY that Peter Gade will be playing at 1800 hours against Wacha. So.. hehehe! OF COURSE WE DIE DIE ALSO MUST REACH THERE BEFORE 6PM lahhh. *____* Actually planned to watch Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong's match after that, but then the Nigerians did not turn up, so TEAM MALAYSIA was declared as the winner for the match WITHOUT COMPETING =.= Kesian those Malay supporters who dolled up themselves like a Christmas tree by wrapping their own bodies with the Jalur Gemilang. LOLL. They are damn semangat to support Malaysia esp LCW. Idk why their semangat patriotik is sooo membarak.

NOW here are the pictures of the day!

Thomas Cup Group Match.
Group C Play-off
Denmark vs Poland
First Single - Peter Hoeg Gade Christensen vs Przemyslaw Wacha

The Malaysian Team.

Uber Cup Group Match
Group A Play-off
China vs USA
First Single - Wang YiHan vs Rena Wang

I bet Rena Wang is somebody from China / Taiwan / HK, studying in USA.
*personal assumption. no offences*

I don't know whether Wang YiHan proved too good for Rena Wang, or the US fella is just too poor.
Score : 21-2, 21-9

Uber Cup Group D Play-off
Korea vs South Africa
Sung Ji-Hyun vs Kerry-Lee Herrington

Did not really into this match.
Score : 21-9, 21-9

Always white and blue for Korea. This time WHITE!

China is always red and yellow! This time ALL YELLOW!

The badminton legend Morten Frost is giving instructions!
Morten Frost, Yang Yang, Han Jian, Rashid Sidek, Rahman Sidek, Ong Ewe Hock, Li Yongbo, Tian Bingyi, Li Mao, Park Joo Bong, Kim Dong Moon, Lee Dong Soo, Rexy Mainaky, Ricky Subrajaya etc etc etc. They were all superb during my dad's teenage time.

I must be crazy. ISO 200 for this picture =.=

net shot

baseline lob.

Typical arrogant-chao-angmoh-face BUT I LIKE

Front net serve.

JUMPING SMASH!

Any part time vacancies for this during international tournaments?
We are willing to do it voluntarily.

Backhand net shot.
p/s NYJ. Don't angry. Don't sad because of something on the floor (:

Backhand front net shot.

Landing from side jumping.

Backhand baseline return.

Baseline chop.

Lastly, Peter Gade won!
The very first point for DENMARK!

Score : 21-9 21-9

INTERVIEWED by Astro 801.
But they never aired this scene just now. WTF.

Don't really like the rest of the Danes, so we went off early as there's nothing exciting / happening matches.

Reporters transferring pictures to their laptops.

Former England coach, newly-appointed Malaysia Men Doubles Back-up squad coach
TAN KIM HER

From left : Lee Chong Wei, Peter Gade, Taufik Hidayat,
Tan Boon Heong, Koo Kien Keat.
Out of the five, except for the first black one, the rest are my

Temporary murals.

These three I like!

'Best wishes' from the Malaysians.

Notice LCW's eyes, someone drew eyeliner for him. LMAO.

Lastly, how could I leave without taking picture with this!

Yours truly.

I was damn stupid enough to ask my brother whether he wants to join us for the semi final match this Friday. BODOH dao bao! But it's good too if he wants to join. Worse to worse pay the ticket for him lor since he never watch such big matches before. Since he has rejected my 'invitation', I shall not ask him again DUE TO SOME REASONS (:

Learnt quite a lot from the trip today. I have been holding racquets for the past 11 years and I just know how much lbs of a string should be tied on the racquet to suit the player. BUT today, I JUST get to know how to determine the balancing point of a racquet through a man selling Victor stuffs (: (: (: *Credits to NYJ who kenal the seller.* Don't ask me why I never know. My answer will be MY COACH NEVER TEACH (: Since the fella loves to 'JIAO LIU' so much with us.. Should I meet up with the fella again this Friday and ask him to teach me how to string a racquet? hehe.

Question now : Should I get the Victor badminton shoes? RM200! :/

Conclusion : My camera has done a good job though it's not as pro as DSLR. I love my camera.

Updates.

Heyy peeps! Just a very quick update because I am drowning in the pool of asignmentS. Audit, financial accounting and tax&tax planning. Shit you UWE.

1. As you facebook addicts know, yeah, I went for Malaysia Open 2010. I wanted to blog about this since dont know when but... assignments deadlines are drawing near, I am waiting for Ying Jie to pass me her memory card. You know lahh, ixus is just too sucks to snap those action pictures. Hi ISO, Hi noise, limited zooms.. wtff. Some more there are thousands of pictures which make my life kinda difficult to sort them out. Anyway, I went there not because I am a patriotic and supportive citizen, it is because... some of the badminton players is just simply too rock! (:

*a precious picture to fish your appetite prior to the actual post (:*

PETER GADEEEEEE ♥

2. I've shifted from Taylor's Business School to the so-called Taylor's newly-built WORLD CLASS FACILITIES aka STATE OF ART Lakeside Campus. wtfffff? Yeah, a campus with a lake, new facilities and beside a err.. COW FARM? is just too cool but it is effing inconvenient. Quarter of it is still under construction and the dust really pissed my ass off. UWE team building tomorrow. Brainless Taylor's is having this during the assignment peak season and WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING THIS FOR YEAR 2 STUDENTS?!!! I don't understand!

Will update more on these soon. Stay tune (:

The Great Wall of China

The Chinese swept the total of 4 out of 5 gold medals at one go explaines they are dominating the world for another year AGAIN!

Cancelled off the feast and replaced by the delicious satay and oyster omelette in front of TV was worth enough to glue your asses on the sofa for the Men Doubles Final. The thrill was back! Just like the rubber match of KKK-TBH played against CY-FHF in the Doha Games final 3 years ago, but they were replaced by JJS-LYD this round. You could barely see where the shuttlecock was in the neck-to-neck fight rubber match, followed by gawddamn sweaty palms, fists-clinching, and fingers-crossing. Granddad was so excited and he kept rubbing his palms while dad was aiyo and sigh-ing all the way. HAHAHA. Thank God, their heartbeats are strong enough.

No doubt, "SuperDan" is not a nickname given blindly to Lin Dan. LD continued his gallant run to be the KING in the world of badminton but I was kinda disappointed to watch the way of him playing against his campatriot today. I speeded all the way back from Summit Parade just to watch his match was the stupiest thing I did. The keeness to see his fast attacking game like a monster during the Olympics final turned out to be a bollshiat.

As expected, the Chinese women are still the extremely-good-blue-chips for Team China, no matter the young or the old ones.

A 4-3-3 medal tally has allowed their CHIEF coach to be on his feet with his nose facing up the sky again. But don't put your nose up too high for too long. Beware of birdie poo! ;D

Another matter of the Great Wall, Lee Hom's Beijing MUSICMAN CONCERT is on the 220809. THIS SATURDAY! C'mon. Taiwan had it twice and China got it for 2 stops - Shang Hai and the upcoming Beijing. JUST KL for Malaysia is hell unfair!

OH yea. It's already after twelve.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUMMY ;)

All England =(

The draw isn't out yet. Seeding report isn't out yet tooooooooo. Gosh. i am going to grill up BWF. Cannot be blamed. It's just 12nd Feb today and All England falls on 3rd Mac. I'm getting more and more impatient. Such a loooooooooooooooooong way to go. ='(
Pretty boring la. No tournament to watch for this month.
The Damnny-Most Business
Jung Jae Sung is going for military camp for A month, which means.. he is not getting to play in the German and English tourneys. In other words, Lee Yong Dae is going to partner up with another fella so called Shin Baek Cheol. BUT BUT BUT BUT BUTT... all those China shuttlers who are still staying alive are coming back for All England. muahaha. hmmm. Our diving pro is not going to have an easy victory this time. hmmmmmm. Will be an exciting game I bet. Weeeee~~~
I am just able to see the draw for German Open so far. I was jumping and hoping in joy as I saw the draw for mixed doubles. muaha. Lee Yong Dae and Lee Hyo Jung are going to conquer the WORLD of mixed doubles again..!!! If Zheng Bo and Ma Jin are to spoil the winning plan of the LEEs, I am going to chop that fat lass off into thousand of hundred of pieces and boil him up in a pot of pork soup. LOLSSSSsss.
Too bad la. Peter Gade and my bad boy Taufik are not playing in this coming GP='(
Well, I would not like to comment much about the Malaysian shuttlers, as those back-up fellas are obviously will be returning to Tanah Melayu empy-handed =D. Okay la. I am not a sarcastic person, I predict Wong Choong Hann will clinch the silver medal back. If he doesn't, too bad I shall say. Well, am I good enough for being a patriotic MALAYSIAN? muahaha.

11012009 Dae Han Min Guo!!

Yeah. It's the finals! Went there early as well and couldn't get into the stadium. No point went into the arena early as no one inside. After boasting with the fella guarding the underground enterance, he said that Lee Yong Dae was not in the stadium yet. Blardy hell la him. unreliable info. We went in, Lee Yong Dae was already inside with Lee Hyo Jung and Lee Dong Soo. These 3 fella was discussing something that was beyond our hearing distance and something definitely that we didn't understand. LOL.

Lee Hyo Jung splitted =)
After a while, saw Nova and Liliyana. Liliyana was damn cool, lying down on her badminton bag at the side of the court. lol. Managed to get Nova's autograph. hehe =)

Nova Widianto =)

The game started :-

2nd game started

They lost =(

Yong Dae receiving the medal =)

Zhou Mi is ready for the battle =D

After losing =(
We planned to skip several matches so that we have the chance to meet with the players. After mixed doubles, we skipped women single final. Met Tine Rasmussen, kinda arrogant too. Refused to sign for me, and said I went to her at a wrong time. Shit her. Its okie. She's nothing special also. As long as LYD was in the stadium, we will be inside the stadium. he left, we waited outside.LOL. haha. As Yong Dae was about to leave, we waited him at the other side of the lower tier, so we could pass him our shirt for his autograph. He showed us sort of tired and 'sigh' face. Yet, he still signed for us. =)

He is signing for Ying Jie
We went back to the fella out there, said his info was unreliable. He pulak claimed that LYD went through the underground enterance. mlm him. Sack him only he knows. During the 1st skip, I met... Candra Wijaya. Gaya eh =D

Saina Newal from India

Sohai from Indonesia. wahaha =)

Kinda fruity yeah? hahaha. We went in for men singles final. Gotta watch how our Jaguh Kampung going to loose to Park Sung Hwan. hahaha. Suprisingly, Misbun Sidek was there!! I thought he was still lying on the bed for his lung infection treatment. haha. Although Park had Li Mao with him, but too bad, he still lost. sigh. Just like Peter Gade, the whole stadium was supporting for LCW. Just a small portion of people supporting the Korean. And that small portion of people that I am referring to was the WHOLE Korean team. Sigh.

Supporters for Jaguh Kampung. LOL
Jumping smash by LCW

No doubt, we skipped women doubles for hunting game again. hahaha. We didn't hunt much for this time as LYD was in the stadium. So, we changed our seats to another side of the lower tier, which was near to the player's enterance. Some of them might do their warming up there! haha. As expected, Lee Yong Dae and Jung Jae Sung, Alvent and Chandra warmed up there! LOL. haha.Stupiest thingy I did, kept calling their names. As I called Jung Jae Sung, he lifted up his head and smiled to me. OMG. I called him again for the 2nd time and showed him a thumb up, he smiled to me again. OMG. melted. haha.

Doing his warming up. hahaha.
Jae Sung is scratching his ichy ass.=) hahaha

Yong Dae's bag

LOL. warming up at the red carpet. haha.

haha. Thanks to the 3 'lalas' sitting beside me, we were able to secure our seats at the front row. haha. We rushed back in time for men doubles. I was clinching my fists throughout the match. The scratch pair from Indonesia was great. It's difficult to study their game. They changed their style of play form time to time. That was the reason why the Korean lost to them at the first game I guess. It was amazing!

Match started =)

Men doubles was the final match of the day. after the prize presentation, we ran as fast as a rocket to the arena. Lee Yong Dae was surrounded by a lot of people. No matter how.. We MUST SQUEEZE INTO THE CROWD!! haha. WE did it at last. LOL. Yong Dae's sweaty arm kept 'terkena' my hand. hahas. His arm was damn cold and wet. His white shirt was freaking wet. Wet till it turned into transparent colour. So now.. Can you people imagine how wet was he? haha. I managed to squeeze into the crowd and stood in front of him. I didn't notice that I stood in front of his bag. LOL. As i passed my shirt to him for his 2nd time signature, he said. SORRY.. SORRY.. SORRY.. to me. He sounded very very rush and he took his bag behind me and walked away with his coach, Lee Dong Soo. OMG.. =)

It's really near. No Zooming

Another closer picture =)

We chased and chased and followed them to the carpark, so did the crowd. He stopped finally to sign for a few kids, and I stood beside him, and called him. He lifted his head and look at me, then passed my shirt to him. He signed for me for the 2nd time! haha. After he stood up, I tried to pull him to take picture with me. And.. As he stood beside me and the moment that my friend going to snap the picture for me, KANASAI! another MAN pulled him away and take picture with him! after he snapped the picture with the UNGENTLEMAN fella, he left. DAMN IT! DON'T ever let me meet that damn fella again. HIS LIFE IS WANTED FROM NOW ON!!!!! and.. I hope that he'll lost the picture! hmppp!!! Really Fu*k! Cant he pull him away after 2 seconds? really really really really blardy hell.!!!

This fella should be happy.
We continued to chase and chased, and Jae Sung walked pass the crowd. haha. I called his name, and showed another thumb up to him, and said "Jae Sung, GOOD ya" and.. You people guess, what he did? He smiled to me again and said "Thank You". hahaha. My conclusion : The Koreans are very every polite =)

Again, they left. We didn't go after them though. That will make us like a crazy fella. haha. Anyway, M'sian Open was fun =) More pics to come :-

Look at the camera la boy.

Hendra Gunawan

Alvent Yulianto

The podium the Olympic champion stood before =)

My precious shirt =D

Kinda disappointing as the signatures terkena water and, some of their signs went blur, including Peter Gade's! grr.

Yong Dae was the only 1 to sign at the front =)

Besides, felt kinda disappointed because I didn't manage to get to snap a picture of two with :-

THE BADMINTON GREATS

  1. Lee Yong Dae
  2. Markis Kido
  3. Hendra Setiawan
  4. Luluk Hadiyanto
  5. Sony Dwi Kuncoro
  6. Wang Chen
  7. Pi Hong Yan
  8. Zhou Mi
  9. Zhang JieWen
  10. Yang Wei
  11. Gao Ling
  12. Wei Yili

THE BADMINTON LEGENDS

  1. Rexy Mainaky
  2. Lee Dong Soo
  3. Morten Frost

Sigh.. how great if Taufik, Lin Dan and the rest of the Chinese Team was there. After wishing Alvent Best of luck for the Korean Open, we left the stadium with a hard feeling. =(

Proton M'sia Open 2010! I'll definitely be back for the KOREAN Team!!! Their politeness earned my respects. Kudos dude. Thumbs up for you people.

DAE HAN MIN GUO!!!
